Each week we will include a fun fact or historic tidbit about our great hometown
Our Township would be a different place today had Boonton Lakes been fully developed
In addition to Rockaway Drive and Crest Hill Drive, the 676 lot Boonton Lakes development would have included the areas encompassing the present day:
Glenbourne, Rockaway Valley School, Leonard Park, Birchwood and Weiss Farm
Lake Tumble-In was the first lake constructed while the Lake of Isles was started at Clay Hole but was never finished
More information on the Boonton Lakes development including the original site plan is on display in the Municipal Building
If you have any old photos or newspaper articles about Boonton Township that you would like to share, please let us know!
