Foster

Claire Keegan

4.34 35,524 ratings 4,520 reviews

A small girl is sent to live with foster parents on a farm in rural Ireland, without knowing when she will return home. In the strangers’ house, she finds a warmth and affection she has not known before and slowly begins to blossom in their care. And then a secret is revealed and suddenly, she realizes how fragile her idyll is.

Winner of the Davy Byrnes Memorial Prize, Foster is now published in a revised and expanded version. Beautiful, sad and eerie, it is a story of astonishing emotional depth, showcasing Claire Keegan’s great accomplishment and talent.

Grill safety tips from the Township Fire Official

Before firing up the grill this weekend, place it away from your house. Do not store or use a grill on a porch or balcony.

Leading factors contributing to grill fires are failure to clean, leaks or breaks, leaving the grill unattended, and having the grill too close to something that could catch fire.

🔥Grill Safety Tips🔥

🍔Propane & charcoal BBQ grills should only be used outdoors.

🌭The grill should be placed well away from the home, deck railings and out from under eaves and overhanging branches.

🍔Keep children and pets at least three feet away from grill area.

🌭Keep your grill clean by removing grease or fat buildup from the grills and in trays below the grill.

🍔NEVER leave your grill unattended.

🌭Always make sure your gas grill lid is open before lighting it
