Summer Recreation Camp 2023
6 Weeks: July 5th - August 11th - $125 Per Week
Week of July 5th - July 7th $75 (No camp July 3rd & 4th)
Monday to Friday 9:00am-12:00pm Held at RVS
Fun Fridays at RVA Fields
Spots are limited. Please do not wait to sign up.
Out of town residents may sign up for $150 per week.
Camp will be held in large open areas: gyms, playground, field and Leonard Park.
Small grade level groups will rotate to various stations.
Regular Rec Camp -Offered to children entering Kindergarten- 5th grade
Preschool Camp- Ages 3 and 4 (Must be potty trained)
Sport Camp- Grades 4th and 6th
All camp are on one registration. Please check the camp and weeks you are registering for.
Please submit the registration form for each camper and make checks payable to: Boonton Township Recreation. Forms can be mailed to: Boonton Township Recreation, 155 Powerville Road, Boonton Township.
You will receive additional information upon receipt of your application.

Township ordinance prohibits depositing or throwing snow or ice upon any right-of-way within the Township - so please refrain from plowing, snow blowing or shoveling snow and ice into the roadway. (ordinance 112-1.C)

Public Health Nurse Office Hours

The Public Health Nurse serves as a vital resource to our community for health-related referrals such as COVID tests and vaccines or weigh loss management.
Blood pressure screenings are done during office hours - no appointment is necessary.
Good idea to call beforehand to verify hours for the week. Stop by during office hours for more information.

The Rockaway Valley Garden Club generally meets the 2nd Tuesday of each Month.

The monthly RVGC Program will be held on March 14, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12 noon at the Boonton Township Municipal Building, 155 Powerville Rd, Boonton Township, NJ 07005
The presentation will be about "From Great Estates to Public Gardens" . The speaker will be Bill Moran, a Morris County Master Gardener who will surprise you with the number of public gardens within a short drive of our area. Most of them are free and offer an incredible variety of plants and designs. In some instances, the gardens were once part of a private estate and the original mansion may be open for viewing. This presentation covers a range of gardens from pocket size to multi-acre arboretums. You will enjoy this beautiful slide show and the speaker's highly subjective rating.

What Is Tax Identity Theft?
Tax identity theft is when someone uses your Social Security number to steal your tax refund or for work. People often discover tax identity theft when they file their tax returns.
How To Protect Yourself from Tax Identity Theft
Taking steps to protect your personal information can help you avoid tax identity theft. Here’s what you can do to stay ahead of identity thieves.
Protect documents that have personal information
Keep your tax records and Social Security card in a safe place. When you decide to get rid of your tax records, shred them. If you don’t have a shredder, look for a local shred day.
Protect your information from scammers online and on your phone
If you use tax preparation software like TurboTax, TaxAct, or TaxSlayer, use multi-factor authentication. Multi-factor authentication offers extra security by requiring two or more credentials to log in to your account. The additional credentials you need to log in to your account fall into two categories: something you have — like a passcode you get via text message or an authentication app, or something you are — like a scan of your fingerprint, your retina, or your face. Multi-factor authentication makes it harder for scammers to log in to your accounts if they do get your username and password.
Don’t give your personal information to someone who calls, emails, or texts and says they’re with the IRS. It could be a scammer impersonating the IRS to steal your information or money. If you need to contact the IRS, call them at 1-800-829-1040.
What To Do If Someone Steals Your Tax Refund
If someone uses your Social Security number to file for a tax refund before you do, you’ll usually find out when you file your return with the IRS.
If you file by mail, the IRS will mail you a letter explaining that they received more than one return in your name. Follow the instructions in the letter.
If you try to submit your tax return online or through a tax preparer, the IRS will reject your tax return as a duplicate filing. If this happens, go to IdentityTheft.gov and report it. IdentityTheft.gov will create your:
-FTC Identity Theft Report
-IRS Identity Theft Affidavit
-Personal recovery plan
If you choose, IdentityTheft.gov will submit the IRS Identity Theft Affidavit to the IRS online so that the IRS can begin investigating your case. You can also get the Identity Theft Affidavit (IRS Form 14039) from irs.gov and submit it by mail.
What To Do If Someone Uses Your Social Security Number for Work
If someone uses your Social Security number for work, the employer may report that person’s income to the IRS using your Social Security number. When you file your tax return, you wouldn’t have included those earnings because they weren’t yours. But the IRS doesn’t know that. Their records will show you failed to report all your income.
The IRS will mail you a letter explaining you had earnings that you didn’t report. If you get a letter like this from the IRS, follow the instructions in the letter.
If you haven’t gotten a letter from the IRS but you think someone is using your Social Security number for work, review your Social Security work history. Create an account at socialsecurity.gov/myaccount. If you find errors, contact your local Social Security Administration office.

This notification system allows residents to receive e-mail, text message, and/or other alerts regarding emergency notifications and other important messages regarding our community. With this program, you can choose to receive alerts by whatever method of communication you prefer.
Visit www.btpolice.org and click on the “emergency notifications” tab on the right side of the page. Follow the instructions to be redirected to the "Alert Boonton Township" registration page. Once redirected, ensure you are on the page for Boonton Township New Jersey and follow the step by step instructions on the web page to create an account and receive emergency alerts for Boonton Township.
"Alert Boonton Township" also automatically signs you up for Smart911 which provides you and your family with a potentially life-saving resource. Smart911 is a free emergency 911 component which helps our emergency dispatchers better assist you during an emergency. This service also allows residents to create a safety profile which can include any information they would like to share with first responders during an emergency.
