Boonton Township Trivia

Each week we will include a fun fact or historic tidbit about our great hometown

The current day Municipal Building was home to the Powerville School from 1871 to 1968.

The building was transferred from the Board of Education in exchange for property at the corner of Powerville and Oak Roads with the intent to use the 31.5 acres as a future school site.

The building has served as the Municipal Building and Police Headquarters for the past 50 years.
