COVID-19 Vaccine Registration

The Morris County Regional Vaccination Center is now scheduling COVID-19 vaccine appointments ONLY for front-line healthcare workers and others classified as 1A

under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

OFFERING FREE COVID-19 TESTING

No-Cost In-Person Testing at CCM

Morris County is now offering no-cost, in-person saliva COVID testing at County College of Morris.

Requirements:

• You must present proof during the appointment that you live or work in Morris County.
• You must schedule an appointment to get your test. No walk-ins.
• You can get a test whether or not you’re experiencing symptoms.
• Don’t eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum for 30 minutes prior to your COVID test.
• You must wear a mask during your appointment.

Directions and Precautions

Parking at CCM for people with appointments will be reserved in Lot 6, where individuals using public transportation to and from CCM also may board or disembark from a bus. To find directions to CCM and learn more about public transportation options to and from the campus, please go to the CCM website.

Weekly Coronavirus Update

The cumulative number of cases as of the start of community transmission in Morris County of COVID-19 in early March 2020 now stands at 286 cases as of January 8, 2021.

BOOK CLUB MEETINGS

Attention anyone interested in joining the Boonton Township Book Club. We meet the second Tuesday of the month in the Municipal Building at 7pm.

Township ordinance prohibits depositing or throwing snow or ice upon any right-of-way within the Township - so please refrain from plowing, snow blowing or shoveling snow and ice into the roadway. (ordinance 112-1.C)

Township Park Rules & Regs

• RVA Fields: Residents must observe social distancing guidelines and gathering restrictions. Dogs must be leashed (leashes not exceeding 6') and must be under the owner's control at all times; remain on the gravel pathway or parking lot; cannot run off-leash or be on the fields; owners must pick-up after their dogs. Police continue patrols and will issue summonses to anyone allowing their dog to off-leash or failing to pick-up after their dog. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH DOG REGULATIONS MAY RESULT IN DOG PRIVILEGE BEING SUSPENDED.
• Leonard Park: Residents must observe social distancing guidelines and gathering restrictions. Tennis lessons are prohibited at the tennis courts. Dogs are strictly prohibited.
• Griffith Park is re-opened. Residents must observe social distancing guidelines and gathering restrictions. Dogs are strictly prohibited.

• While using our parks, grounds and trails, residents are asked to:

-Refrain from using parks or trails if you are exhibiting virus symptoms.

-Follow CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to and during use of parks or trails.

-Observe CDC’s minimum recommended social distancing of 6 feet from other individuals at all times. If this is not possible, users should find an alternate location or depart that space.

-Understand that public restrooms are not available but have portable restrooms (please bring personal sanitary supplies for yourself).

TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO REGISTER

This notification system allows residents to receive e-mail, text message, and/or other alerts regarding emergency notifications and other important messages regarding our community. With this program, you can choose to receive alerts by whatever method of communication you prefer.

Visit www.btpolice.org and click on the “emergency notifications” tab on the right side of the page. Follow the instructions to be redirected to the "Alert Boonton Township" registration page. Once redirected, ensure you are on the page for Boonton Township New Jersey and follow the step by step instructions on the web page to create an account and receive emergency alerts for Boonton Township.

"Alert Boonton Township" also automatically signs you up for Smart911 which provides you and your family with a potentially life-saving resource. Smart911 is a free emergency 911 component which helps our emergency dispatchers better assist you during an emergency. This service also allows residents to create a safety profile which can include any information they would like to share with first responders during an emergency.
