9/07 - Labor Day - Municipal Offices closed

9/08 - Township Committee Work Meeting - 7:00 PM

9/12 - Recycling Center - open from 9 AM to noon **You must unload your own recyclables - no assistance will be provided**

The Center closes when the dumpsters are full - you will not be allowed to dump after the center closes

The largest population increase in the Township was from 1890-1900 when the population increased 148% from 326 to 809

and the second largest increase was from 1960-1970 when the population grew from 1,998 to 3,070.

The current population is 4,237 (2019 estimate).

Weekly Coronavirus Update

Since August 31, 2020 the number of confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the Township remain at 123 cases. For health related information visit the Morris County Health Management website at: https://health.morriscountynj.gov/coronavirus/#cases for up-to-date data and information.

Township Park Rules & Regs

• RVA Fields: Residents must observe social distancing guidelines and gathering restrictions. Dogs must be leashed (leashes not exceeding 6') and must be under the owner's control at all times; remain on the gravel pathway or parking lot; cannot run off-leash or be on the fields; owners must pick-up after their dogs. Police continue patrols and will issue summonses to anyone allowing their dog to off-leash or failing to pick-up after their dog. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH DOG REGULATIONS MAY RESULT IN DOG PRIVILEGE BEING SUSPENDED.
• Leonard Park: Residents must observe social distancing guidelines and gathering restrictions. Tennis lessons are prohibited at the tennis courts. Dogs are strictly prohibited.
• Griffith Park is temporarily closed for upgrades and maintenance.

• While using our parks, grounds and trails, residents are asked to:

-Refrain from using parks or trails if you are exhibiting virus symptoms.

-Follow CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to and during use of parks or trails.

-Observe CDC’s minimum recommended social distancing of 6 feet from other individuals at all times. If this is not possible, users should find an alternate location or depart that space.

-Understand that public restrooms are not available but have portable restrooms (please bring personal sanitary supplies for yourself).

With libraries closed don't forget about the Township Book Swap. Stop by the Municipal Building during business hours (8 AM - 4 PM) to select any book(s) of your choice.

TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO REGISTER

This notification system allows residents to receive e-mail, text message, and/or other alerts regarding emergency notifications and other important messages regarding our community. With this program, you can choose to receive alerts by whatever method of communication you prefer.

Visit www.btpolice.org and click on the “emergency notifications” tab on the right side of the page. Follow the instructions to be redirected to the "Alert Boonton Township" registration page. Once redirected, ensure you are on the page for Boonton Township New Jersey and follow the step by step instructions on the web page to create an account and receive emergency alerts for Boonton Township.

"Alert Boonton Township" also automatically signs you up for Smart911 which provides you and your family with a potentially life-saving resource. Smart911 is a free emergency 911 component which helps our emergency dispatchers better assist you during an emergency. This service also allows residents to create a safety profile which can include any information they would like to share with first responders during an emergency.
