Update from the Township Committee
The Township Committee continues to be in contact with officials from JCP&L. The Mayor has participated on the daily Mayor's call with JCP&L management.
The target date for restoration is Tuesday, August 11, 2020; however, we remain hopeful that Township customers will be restored before that date - the Boonton district of JCP&L sustained the most outages in the State. About 1300 customers in Boonton Township are on one circuit that experienced heavy damage which accounts for the continued outages. JCP&L crews are in the Township working to restore the outages as quickly as possible.
All roads, except one, have been cleared and are passable. The remaining road requires JCP&L tree crews to clear due to the extensive damage to poles and wires.
Internet as well as the phones and e-mail has been out at the Municipal Building since Tuesday which has limited our ability to communicate - service has now been fully restored.
